The 66th Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2655 Main Street, in the basement, starting at noon. See the News page at left for the AGM Notice. See the Financial Statements page at left for the full audited financial statements for 2015.
The Co-op is run by a volunteer Board of Directors. It owns the properties at 2655 Main Street, 185 East 11th Avenue, and the 11th Avenue parking lot. The income of the Co-op is earned by leasing these properties.
The Co-op uses its income to maintain the properties, and to support organizations in the area such as Mount Pleasant Branch 177 Royal Canadian Legion, Saint Patrick School, Sir Charles Tupper School, Seaforth Highlanders Cadets, and many other charitable organizations.
What is a Cooperative?
A Cooperative is much like an ordinary corporation, except:
We have lost contact with many of our shareholders, because they have moved without updating their contact information, or they have passed away and their heirs were unaware of their share in the Co-op. Many years of dividends remain unpaid for these shareholders.
If you think you are a shareholder, or perhaps one of your parents is a shareholder, please contact us.
If you know you are a shareholder, and would like to receive your information from us by e-mail instead of by postal mail, please send us an e-mail to let us know.
It is important that we have full contact information for shareholders and their beneficiaries. If you think your beneficiary information is not up to date, please download the beneficiary form from our Forms page, complete and sign the form, and send it to us by e-mail, fax or postal mail.
The Co-op does not have regular office hours, as this does not seem to be necessary. Our phone has voice mail which is checked regularly, and we can arrange for someone to be in the office if you need to meet with us.
